Dan Eggers (Ted Talk 6)

After watching this video, I took away that everyone has different learning styles. A lot of people have a better learning comprehension when they are working one on one. I also learned that if you have a good idea, then you need to follow through with it, because, like Dan Egger, your ideas could change peoples lives. This speaker's techniques were very clear. He uses humor a lot. This was good because it made the very long video more entertaining and easier to follow. I liked how he used humor so frequently, however it was unnessciary is several spots throughout the video. Egger also had several really good presentation techniques. He stayed stationary while he was talking. This was good because the audience did not get distracted by the motions going on, they could just focus in what he is saying. Another thing he did was that he used a lot of visuals. Again, this was very helpful because it allowed the audience to connect to the video more, and it allowed people to stay focused longer. In my opinion, the best presentation skill he used was that he told stories. Which helped tremendously. It helped show that these were facts not just his opinions. This video relates to me because I personally learn a lot better, faster, and easier when I am working with someone one on one. So, I completely agree with Egger's theory. This realtes to the world because all over the country, people are opening and creating things similar to the creation Egger made. They are helping kids all over the contry learn more efficently. This really connects to education because it is about how kids learn differently. It shows that education is a complex thing that needs to be handled gently. Overall, this video was very good. I was intrigued by it because it had a good background. Egger was very motivational and I really liked his thoughts and ideas.
