Clay Shirky (Ted Talk 4)
Clay Shirky's ted talk taught me several things. The most important thing that I took away was that once a punishment is created, the amount of people doing the crime, increases. This to me was important and also very puzzling. I was not really sure why this was. It makes no sense at all. Shirky's speaking techniques werenn't extremley easy to spot. The only one I picked up was that he was very monotoned and spoke very slow. This was helpful because it was clear what he was saying, however it also made it very difficult. This was difficult because it was hard to tell weather he was happy, sad, etc. about the situation. He aslo had some presentation techniques. These included: examples, visuals, hand gestures, and steady movement. Of all these things, the most helpful to me was the hand gestures because it demonstrated his thoughts and helped me connect to them more. This video is related to education because it showed similarities like how when kids are graded, they are more likely to do worse. This video also relates to me becuase it described my exact personality. When someone tells me I can't do something, I want to do it even more. This video also relates to the world because it shows why we may be comitting crime, etc. This video was kind of boring and it was not my favorite that we've watched. However, it had a good messege.

Dan Pink (Ted Talk 3)
After watching Dan Pink's ted talk, there are several things I took away from this video. The most important thing I learned was that when people are given the oppurtunity to recieve rewards, their creaivity is limited. This is something that is important because in today's society, everything has a reward. If there isn't a reward, most people see no point. However, rewards are actually causing people to loose creativity. Pink's speaking techniques were very clear. He used hand gesturures, moved around the stage, talked slowly, did not use only one tone, and he used hidden humor. These things all helped me understand his messeges more clear. When he used more then one tone, it really helped so that I coould tell what his mode was. IE: if he was being sarcastic, if he was upset/angry, etc. All of his techinques were very helpful. Pink also had a couple of presentation techniques. Those included that he showed many visual examples and that he connected to the audience a lot. This was a good idea because it showed he was trying to include them instead of just makinf it about him. The visuals were also very helful because some people, including me, are much better at taking things in when they see them. What is most imprtant about this video is the fact that Pinkk stresses how much rewards can take away creativity. This is because it really shows how much a mind can be altered when something is offered. This video doesn't exactly connect to me in any way. This video connects to education severely. This is because students work so much harder because of grades, but if they weren't being graded on everything they would probably be able to be more creative. This aslo relates to the world in the exact same world excpet for not fro grades, but for money. Dan Pink's ted talk was very intense and motivating. He had good points and a lot of detail to stress those points.

Derek Sivers (Ted Talk 2)
I watched a ted talk by Derek Sivers. After watching this ted talk, I can take several things away from it. One of those things being that you are more self motivated rather than peer motivated. When you motivate yourself, you are working for yourself rather than working for the applause of approval from others. It is more meaningful, personal, and exciting when you motivate yourself. Derek Sivers used several techniques while speaking. He talked very slow to make it easier to understand. This was a good idea because it allowed me, the viewer, to follow along without questioning his thoughts and thinking process. Siver also had some good style in which he added to his talk. He stayed still most of the time, while using his hands as gestures to demonstrate his thoughts. Another style he had was that he used a lot of visual examples and pictures. The caught my attention, as well as throughly explaining it better. I think after watching this video, the most important thing to realize is that each person has different motivation techniques. This is important because proves that although Sivers believes people are better self motivators, that they can also be the opposite. This connects to me personally because I am self-motivaed. If I tell someone my goals, I am a lot less likely to actually persue them, which is what Sivers is mainly saying. It connects to education because it shows teachers and students that they may or may not be motivated by the other one. To the world, this shows that people sometimes need to be kept to themselves. If someone is not jumping out at you to tell you their goals, then let them be and do not pester them. This ted talk was short, however it was really inspiring and it made me think about these things.

Sir Ken Robinson (Ted Talk 1)
After watching this video, I took away information about the education system. It showed me that math and arts aren't taught at an equal level and they are not respected at the same level. Sir Ken Robinson's speaking techniques were varied. I picked up on several of them. One, was that he used humor while speaking. He also talked fast. This made it a little hard to understand him. Robinson's technique style was mainly humor. He also didn't move around much, but used his as gestures. What matters most about this video was the educational view. To me personally, it is important because I am artistic and it greatly matters to me that tit is taught with the same respect as other subjects. To education, it is important because it stresses the fact that people are noticing things aren't equally spread and fair. To the world it's important because it shows that things could be impacted by the way teachers are treating other views on education.
